Seven months
Wow it’s been seven months since I’ve posted. I’ve had a lot going on. These past several months have been something. So here’s just a little blurb or so
August: boxes, boxes, boxes. The unpacking begins. Go back to work in the middle of the month. New state, different laws, but I still love my job. I like the people I work with and I still enjoy my job. I also like not being the boss, I had done it for so long I thought it would be awkward to be staff, but it’s working out very nicely.
September: Hubby is in the full swing of school. Holy Buckets we have SEVEN trees and no grass, just leaves everywhere. Our neighbor has a leaf vacuum, we have a rake. Our neighbor has grass and just a few hours after raking we still have no grass.
October: I’m one year older, spent my birthday with the family. (Can’t tease hubby about his age, well not until December anyway.) Still no grass just leaves SEVEN TREES! We adopt Kalypso. Happy Halloween, CC dresses up as Goldie the Golden Gopher (CC’s 1st Halloween)
November: Our heater dies, it’s getting cold. SEVEN TREES. New heater installed. Big Turkey Day in Des Moines.
December: Our 6th wedding anniversary. Still no grass, SNOW!!! It snowed the first weekend in December. It was really cool to put up Christmas decorations on our very own house. We bought our tree at a tree lot right on 65. CC’s first Christmas, we even have a fireplace to hang our stockings with care. At least when she’s old enough I won’t have to be creative like my folks were when they had to explain how Santa got into the house without a chimney. Happy Birthday Hubby (I can tease him again about his old age.)
January: What do you mean wind chill? 35 degrees BELOW zero. Still no grass, just snow. Do you know how difficult it is to pick up dog poop when it’s frozen? I got so sick of the cold I bought pineapple scented hand soap and just to remind my self of the pacific ocean I bought “ocean breeze” scented shampoo & conditioner. I never thought 20 degrees would ring the phrase “it’s nice out today.” Chargers looking good for playoffs… Ah man, I owe Terry coffee. (CHARGERS SUPERBOWL XLIII)
February: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CC!! Our little girl is a year old. Family & friends from CA, brave souls they are, came to celebrate. It was one of those 20 degree “it’s nice out today” type of weekends, but the “nice out” part did not sit well with the CA crew. Friends from IA came up for the celebration. We did a luau theme for the party and we all thought warm thoughts. It really was a blast. Welcome to the world B3! I attended my first caucus, a little different from the CA primary. I saw CC take two steps by herself tonight.
Well in a nutshell there it is.
take care,
Kate
