Minnesota Movin’

Posted in Thoughts by Kate

THIS WAS WRITTEN ON WEDNESDAY JULY 18TH

We’re packed, we’re moving. It really hasn’t hit me that we are actually moving out of state. There are so many thoughts going through my mind. I’ve had so much to do over these last few weeks that my mind has not processed the reality that I will no longer be living here. These past few weeks have been pure packing, our house looks like a box convention. Also, work has been a bit hectic, I promised my crew I would complete their training before my last day, and low and behold I got it done. Speaking of work today was my last day as the manager at the NC CVS. I was a little teary when I left, don’t think anyone caught me though. I did have to take a minute in my car before leaving for the last time. I still remember when I first started there, I never met a staff that worked so well together, it truly is a little “pharmacy phamily” Thank you to the very best staff in SD County, as I’ve said before you are the absolute best.

Tonight was an evening out to dinner with some close friends. A big thank you to those very friends who helped us pack the books, uhaul truck, and last minute misc packing. While eating my salad this evening I realized that in 6 days I’ll be living in a different state, starting over, making anew. It’s exciting and scary all at the same time. So many changes all at once; everyone always comments on the weather of course, but loads and loads of other thoughts cross my mind. Our house, (if it’s broke you fix it) childcare, a new position (with all of it’s new rules and regulations), and of course the big one I’m still getting use to, being a Mom to CC. On the flip side, we do have a beautiful house that we are in the process of owning, I guess the bank owns it until 2037. However we don’t have to ask the bank if we want to paint the walls neon green, convincing Richard would be another story though :) . I am excited for all the new things about to happen. I’m excited to decide which cabinet will be the medicine cabinet and which half of the closet will be my half, well in all honesty more like two-thirds :) . The cats seem to be okay with the whole moving thing, Churchill is hiding a little more than usual, but Gatsby seems to enjoy the adventure of making new pathways through out the box convention.

I recently found myself on myspace and I’m going to give it a go. We’ll see how it goes. At the moment it’s a bit frustrating because my high school buddies are all women (I did go to an all girls high school after all) and finding some of my class mates is a bit difficult because I do not know their married last name. Most require the friend request to provide the person’s last name or email. I don’t have this info, that’s why I’m on my space to find out. Hopefully I won’t get addicted, any suggestions Chuckles to avoid the addiction to my space?

Take care

PS Is it football season yet?
